I DISTINCTLY REMEMBER SAYING NO ONE WAS TO TOUCH THE CHOCOLATE. [And then more softly as one Basco ta Jolokia appears from behind the open door.] I am going to break some heads today.

WHO DID IT. WHO TOOK THE CHOCOLATE.

[Sipping at her tea, Ahim doesn't even flinch when Basco appears. She waits for a moment, setting the cup down before responding.]

Perhaps you merely misplaced it?

[He takes a slow turn on his heel before he angles his head towards Ahim.]

Princess. [That pause is for emphasis.] I never misplace anything. You must have me confused with someone else. [Wry smirk.]

[She looks up at Basco from her seat then turns away, staring out the porthole.]

We are not all perfect. I am sure you have misplaced a few things before.

Basco-san? Anou, Captain is napping and..." "...you might wake him up."

[He pauses. Slides a sly look at Marvelous who is -- true enough -- napping in the Captain's chair.]

Pffft. [He flicks a hand in dismissal.] He can wake up and yell for all I care. Hakase, [This is him peering at you, nearly nose-to-nose.] you didn't take the pack I stuffed away... did you?

[He doesn't think Don would. But it's always good to be sure.]

[Basco stares down at Don for about half a minute more--]

Tch. [--and then he straightens and makes a move to head back into the kitchen.]

[He opens his eyes slowly, he knows the tone in Basco's voice indicates that he is not in a chipper mood]

Why don't you ask that overgrown ape you take along with you?

[He smirks but does not move]

[Basco stops just as he gets an inch from the door that leads back into the kitchen and casts a look over his shoulder.]

Are you... implying that Sally would steal from me? [Even mere thought of such a suggestion is utterly ridiculous.] Don't compare my girl to your parrot, Marvy-chan.

[Marvelous nonchalantly stands and looks at Basco who is near the doorway]

Oh, it's a girl? [He imagines the ape in a dress and it scares him]

You think this bird would take it? [He picks up Navi] The only thing this bird can do is give us ridiculous leads.

[He tosses Navi aside knowing Ahim, Don, or Gai will catch her.]

[Basco has to snicker, even a little, at that.]

[He rolls his eyes at the captain's comment.] Have a care, Marvelous. She's useful, helpful and reliable-- [His voice dips a notch as he rests an arm on the arch of the door.] --which is honestly a lot more than what I can say about you sometimes.

[It's only half-true. As far as Basco is concerned, Marvelous can be reliable: with food and sleeping half the day away and picking fights with Zangyak just because they happen to be there.]

[Marvelous looks over at Basco leaning in the doorway, he wants to walk over and wipe that smirk off his face.]

Reliable? Sure, when it comes to us gallivanting everywhere making fools of ourselves. What makes you think you can be a better Captain?

[He eyes Basco, knowing that there was a reason why he wasn't captain]

[Self-preservation skills are Basco's specialty, really. But so is pushing things until just before they really should be 'enough'.]

Aw, Marvy-chan woke up on the wrong side of the captain's chair? [He shifts his weight an crosses his arms over his chest and continues speaking in a rare all-seriousness demeanor.] I never said I would, really. [Shrug.]

So. Marvy-chan. Since Hakase's already promised I can buy thrice the amount of the pack that's gone missing -- chicken or pork chops? I've got salted fish rice in the works and the curry is thickening really well.

[He looks over at Hakase, it can be done.]

[The only reason he pauses in doing his arm stretches is because it's much quicker to answer Basco right away than to try and ignore him.]

... [Basco looks over to where Soldier Boy is, lifts a brow and goes back to trolling everyone else whoever he was speaking with before he was so rudely interrupted.]
